About the role:

Due to the organisation success and grow, they are searching for a Work Health and Safety Officer, Based in Brisbane in the CBD area, at the company's head office. The purpose of this position is to provide safety leadership across the organisation and external Host Employer network. The focus of the role will be prevention of injury and work-related illness as well as continuous improvement of organisational health, safety and well-being.

Key responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop and implement WHS strategies, initiatives and projects and continuously improve workplace health and safety systems, including policies, procedures and manuals
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership team on compliance and duty of care responsibilities in the workplace
  • Develop and deliver WHS communications including Toolbox Talks, internal safety bulletin, safety alerts and updates on industry safety news
  • Assist Field Officers to complete a safety audit of all interior and exterior work areas within Host Employer workplaces within specified timeframes
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements across all aspects of health and safety
  • Conduct audits in accordance with AS NZS: 4801 (OHS Management Systems) and relevant legislation and regulations

About you:

  • Current Driver's license
  • Tertiary qualification in Work, Health & Safety (WHS) or Diploma in WHS
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children Card (or willing to obtain one)
  • At least 5 direct year's experience in workplace health and safety roles
