WHS Coordinator

Our client is a truly unique Government solutions organiazation. They are a global leader in their field and have a strong focus on safety.

At this time, they are seeking a Health and Safety professional with energy and passion, seeking to enhance their career within Workplace Health and Safety. This role offers flexibility with a 2 day in office/3 day out split.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Compliance, Governance and Risk, this position will be responsible for providing WHS support, coordination and advice to the business.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of our inclusive, behaviour based and ISO 45001 Certified WHS Management System in their Asia Pacific Operation
  • Building and maintaining strong and cooperative internal and external relationships to promote and integrate WHS into the way the business works
  • Champion the Well-being program and support the HSEQ Manager with ongoing WHS projects (with more responsibility given as you grow and develop your skill-set).
  • Conduct internal audits/inspections to verify APAC WHS systems, policies and practices conform to requirements, are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Assisting with the management of WHS incidents and Hazards to ensure they are managed, escalated and resolved in accordance with regulatory, contractual and WHS Management System requirements


To be successful you will bring:

  • 5 years in a safety role within a mid to large organization
  • Operational experience, (high risk environment exposure desirable)
  • Minimum Certificate IV in WHS
  • Experience/qualifications in hazard and incident report analysis, investigation and resolution.
  • Open minded and engaging personality - must be keen to build good working relationships
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and document systems and process of work
  • Internal Auditing experience and qualifications (desirable)
  • Understanding of and ability to research WHS legislation and codes of practice
  • Analytical mindset and ability to read and interpret data to draw conclusions and trends
  • Australian citizen or PR.
