Your Opportunity

Our client is one of the leaders within the Utilities sector who are now seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to partner with two of their key sites. These sites are across the inner suburbs of Melbourne and have quite a broad range workforce and risk profile in work. They support the day to day functioning of Melbourne, and have worked hard to transition and respond to the ongoing health pandemic of the last 12 months.

Like many high risk work sites, this Health, Safety and Environment role depends heavily on your ability to develop, maintain and ongoing working relationships. Sometimes these have to develop at pace, in tough working environments, and even over zoom (at times).

The Role

Supporting two key sites for this utilities organisation, this Senior HSE Advisor role plays a key partnership role within the business. It supports the frontline leadership teams, coaching and developing the safety culture of each site, through education, instruction and delivery of high quality work.

This person will be heavily involved in operational safety, by partnering with the operational teams to deliver a safe and productive workplace. This sometimes means working at pace, managing multiple priorities and strong decision making.

The risk profile within this business is wide ranging, but will suit someone who has got experience with exposure to medium/high risk worksites, mitigating risk, delivering programs of work, communicating up and down the organisaiton and being a link back to the broader HSE team.

For this position you must have enough experience and knowledge to work independently to build, maintain and support key stakeholders within the organisation.

To be successful you will bring the following:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in a high-risk industry. It could be construction, manufacturing, logistics, or a range of others.
  • The ability to confidently communicate risks and influence supervisors and relevant personnel.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Including operations managers, front line leaders, Union representatives and contractors.
  • Broad HSE knowledge, including ICAM investigations, tool talks, risk management, auditing, hazards reports, HSE compliance and corrective actions etc.
  • Knowledge of Electrical distribution and sub transmission systems
  • Relevant safety qualifications minimum OHS Diploma required- Driver's license is a must

Above all, you will be an enthusiastic, committed and ambitious person looking to grow your career in an environment where you will be given opportunity to flourish.

[NB: Also, will consider applications from excellent HSE Advisors without the extended tenure but the characteristics and skills to succeed in this environment]

The Rewards

There are plenty of opportunities to understand how your role fits into the bigger picture here. You will have a competitive salary package to reward your impact, a Motor vehicle and solid bonus opportunity.
