The Opportunity:

Our client is a leading FMCG/retail organisation, a well-regarded household name that have withstood the Health Pandemic of the last 18 months with strength. They have strong touchpoints with many everyday Australians each week.

Based in the outer South-western suburbs of Brisbane, the client is now seeking an additional Safety Advisor to join the team to implement and drive Supply Chain Safety Plans. They are searching for an experienced safety professional to support, coach and lead employees in this key Distribution Centre to effectively mitigate risk and injury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively mitigating risk in Warehouse and Transport environments through a framework of controls

  • Ensure effective risk management through risk assessments to provide clear guidance on practical risk reduction

  • Drive ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of Safety Procedures

  • Effectively train the team to support the broader systems and processes

  • Review incident investigations to ensure root cause and corrective actions are applied effectively

  • Coach and empower teams to confidently lead WHS and transport safety by reinforcing positive safety behaviour

Desired attributes:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a safety related role, with Supply Chain (Logistics), Transport or Manufacturing.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities with internal and external parties.

  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability in motivating and leading cross-functional teams and forums to adopt safety as a core value.

  • Ability to transform complex data and concepts into simple outputs for Supply Chain leaders to interpret and action.

  • Occupational, Health and Safety diploma/related discipline and or Certificate 4 in Workplace Health and Safety.
