The Challenge
Our international client felt their Australian and New Zealand consulting businesses was stagnating and required a new leader to reinvigorate and drive the business from both a commercial and a delivery perspective. With the role reporting to the President - Asia Pacific, the challenge was to recruit a high profile individual from within the Perth market from a top four consulting firm who had the capability to rebuild the business by developing new relationships within the energy, mining and resources sectors across Australia and New Zealand.
The Solution
To win the assignment we had to first undertake a competitive tender process with a number of international search firms, and demonstrate our deep market knowledge and ability to influence senior candidates.
The remit was to find a highly networked Perth based individuals within the mining and resources sectors who could both build and manage a multi-million dollar consulting business. We were given direct instructions to directly engage with individuals currently working within international consulting organisations with experience in the delivery of business transformation projects. Given the strict parameters, we undertook a detailed market mapping exercise to identify suitable individuals within the consulting sector. Once identified, we approached each individual and directly engaged with them. This approach allowed us to directly sell the features and benefits of this opportunity to each candidate.
The Result
We successfully placed a global leader from within a top four consulting firm with extensive experience in the global mining and resources sector based in Perth. Over a year on they continue to build a successful and growing business.
