About the organisation:

Our client is an established organisation within the warehousing and logistics sector who have facilities across Australia. They have a reputable brand and a positive culture, and as a result of ongoing business success they are now seeking a WHS Coordinator to join the team. This role will be based in the south-east of Melbourne with only 1 site responsibility.

This newly created position is the perfect opportunity for a early career WHS professional to expand their skillset and grow within a family feel organisation. The role has become available due to the merge of 3 business units, this is a exciting role that you can really "make your own" and it will have day to day support from the site team and operantions manager.

About the role:

Reporting to the WHS Manager and Operations Manager this position will be responsible for providing WHS support, coordination and training to multiple divisions within the business.

The purpose of the role is to facilitate and foster a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation by providing high level, accurate, timely and professional skills across the health, safety and environmental areas of the Victorian Business Unit. This includes action tracking, auditing, reporting, training, communication alerts, and administration of key WHS processes.


Key functions:

  • Develop and implement local safe work procedures
  • Complete monthly WHS reporting
  • Ensure OHS data (e.g. incidents & hazards) are accurately recorded in the system
  • Analyse OHS data (over time) to establish any trends
  • Co-ordinate induction and training requirements for all staff, visitors and contractors on site
  • Participate in the Implementation and ensure compliance to the site WHS systems
  • Ensure WHS documents are kept up to date and approved
  • Coordinate health and welling programs

To be successful you will bring:

  • Experience in a relevant HSE Advisor/Officer role (min 1.5 years) Warehousing and Manufacturing preferred.
  • Open minded and engaging personality - must be keen to build good working relationships
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience or exposure to Injury management and RTW
  • Ability to develop and document systems and process of work
  • Understanding of and ability to research WHS legislation and codes of practice
  • Health and Safety Qualifications - Minimum a Cert IV in OHS
