The Company
Our client is a well-known Australian organisation in the food manufacturing sector. They manufacturer a premium product to well known supermarkets and speciality food stores as well as selling direct to hospitality businesses.
The Role
This permanent full-time or part-time (4 days) role is perfect for a safety professional who has multiple years of experience and is capable of being in a stand-alone safety position. You will also need to be passionate about HR as this role will have some People and Culture responsibilities.
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture you will be the Safety SME for the businesses two sites in Sydney (south western suburbs). The role will require you to perform generalist safety tasks as well as to think strategically and work to identify and rectify any gaps from a WHS and Workers Compensation perspective. You will also be required to assist the People & Culture function by performing some HR admin and business partnering tasks.
To be successful you will bring:
- Experience in a Safety/WHS Advisory role preferably within manufacturing, FMCG or warehousing
- Very good understanding of safety management systems and processes, and risk management
- Proven ability to engage, coach and foster relationships
- Experience and maturity to work in an autonomous role - ability to set the agenda for safety
- The confidence to deliver safety programmes and support and advise leadership teams
- Willingness to incorporate HR in your day-to-day role (approx 20% of the role)
- Formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (Diploma minimum)
