// Your Opportunity
Our client is proud to be recognised as a market leader within Australia with sites and team members located all over Australia. They continue to grow as a business and have weathered the Covid-19 pandemic as a service providing business.
With a focus on continuing to develop the Health and Safety journey of the skilled and experienced workforce, an opportunity now exists for a top class WHS professional to join their team in this regionally focused (Victorian), multi-site role. Working closely with the State senior leadership, and the broader Health and Safety function, this role is well placed to continue the safety journey in this fast-moving business. The business is good at creating opportunities for career growth through exposure to larger projects and input into the sizeable National Health and Safety function.
// The Role
This role will partner with senior site and business operations managers and play a pivotal role in guiding this organisation along its safety journey, developing and driving the WHS strategy ensuring aligning to the organisations business goals.
Working within a partnership-based client approach, this role will be a key cog in the Vic business by leading the team to deliver superior Health and Safety outcomes, build on strong relationships, proactive business decisions and technical underpinning. If you value being able to keep a number of balls in the air and be able to prioritise your time well (and that of your team), this will be a role with plenty of interesting challenges.
Part of that will be joining the business at a time when they are interested in continuing their great work in the last few years, but always interested in having a fresh set of eyes to review and refresh their approach.
Even though Covid has altered their ability to work remotely, it will still be important to get face to face and understand the risk and individuals under your guidance, so a travel component is expected in this role (much of it Metro Melbourne, but also state-wide).
Key to success will be providing the support and guidance to your direct reports in delivery of really interesting work.
// The Person
It would be hard to succeed in this role if you can't demonstrate:
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including supporting and growing a high performing team (ideally geographically dispersed)
- Previous experience in driving strong WHS culture within a fast-moving organisation
- Demonstrated exposure to high risk work (with exposure to manufacturing, logistics and FMCG preferred)
- Formal OHS qualifications (Diploma or Undergraduate Qualification in relevant discipline)
- Proven ability to deliver projects and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to travel approx. 2/month (scheduled)
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver pragmatic solutions and team development in a fun and fast paced environment
// The Rewards
This opportunity will see you play a critical role within an organisation that has achieved significant success and give you opportunities to grow.
