Your Opportunity

Our client is one of the leaders within the Manufacturing and Logistics sector who are now seeking an HSEQ Advisor to take this key role.

They are a household name has a strong Health, Safety, Environment and Quality framework and team - and a very strong presence across the Australia New Zealand market (and beyond). They manufacture and deliver known and loved household products, with high quality and safety standards.

As an HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for partnering with stakeholders at all levels across the single site - which is based in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. There will be a lot of proactive work, tailoring/contributing and rolling out company initiatives locally, as well as the responsive elements of HSE (investigations, incidents, reporting), all contributing to the safety culture and performance.

You will also get the variety of being responsible for the Injury Management and Return to Work on site, identifying early intervention opportunities and partnering with the team to get back to work as soon as possible. If you don't have training and experience in this area, specific training will be provided .

It is a medium to high risk physical environment, with key exposure to logistics/warehousing risks. Like many high risk work sites, this Health, Safety and Environment role depends heavily on your ability to develop, maintain and ongoing working relationships.

The Role & Person

Key to this role will be your ability to understand the key priorities and make good decisions as to how/where to spend your energies and time. You will need to demonstrate your key decision making ability in a similar role (an operationally-focused Health and Safety role).

While it is advantageous to have demonstrated HSE experience in a similar sector (FMCG, Manufacturing, Logistics/Transport, the most important elements of the role rely on your ability to communicate with the broader team, build strong relationships, and be self-managed in your workload and responsibilities.

Also really key will be the right aptitude to be able to building relationships through consistency, communication, and delivery on what you say you are going to do.

Technical ability and a strong ability to deliver pragmatic solutions will, of course, be key.

As well as having a Diploma of OHS (as a minimum).
